We Are Customer Zero

IS&T has been utilizing BMC automation tools internally to save the company hundreds, and in some cases thousands, of hours of effort and productivity. The savings that BMC documents from its in-house use of its own products are then being used to show customers how effective BMC solutions are.

“One of the primary customer takeaways when talking to BMC IT is that their investments, whether current or future, provide measurable value as seen from a real IT organization” said Nandu Mahadevan, senior director of IT.

Primarily through BMC Atrium Orchestrator, automation has helped reduce IT workload and increase business efficiency by providing faster, easier access to resources. Automatic guest Wi-Fi access allows guests to be online and productive in just one to three minutes, as opposed to previous wait times of as long as half a day when the process was handled manually.

Improving the efficiency of product development, automated cloud-based provisioning allows easy access to servers for product development, leading to increased use of cloud resources, and automated Source Code access allows developers to get timely access to source code.

These and many other processes have not only saved time and promoted efficiency, but they have also increased the reliability of the systems they support.

Using BMC as “customer zero” for the implementation of BMC software solutions puts BMC in a position to both benefit from the technology and provide real-world feedback from firsthand experience.
